Belton New Tech Dragons Wrap Up Strong Cross Country Season
The Belton New Tech Dragons Cross Country team closed out their 2025 season with an impressive showing at the District 19-AAA Cross Country Meet, held on October 6 at Cameron High School. The Dragons demonstrated grit, teamwork, and determination against a competitive field of runners, marking a strong finish to their season.
Leading the boys’ JV team, Desmond Long earned a spot on the podium with a 3rd-place finish, followed closely by DJ Martinez in 5th and Daniel Zubaty in 6th. Their top-tier performances highlight the Dragons’ depth and consistency throughout the season.
On the girls’ side, Ellie Megoulloa captured the girls JV district championship, securing the individual title with an outstanding performance that set the tone for the team. Daniella Idumebor followed with a solid 16th-place finish, and Claire Thomas represented New Tech in the varsity race, finishing 45th and rounding out the team’s effort.
Coach and teammates alike praised the athletes’ dedication throughout the fall season. “Our runners showed heart and perseverance from start to finish,” said Coach [insert name if desired]. “They trained hard every day, supported one another, and represented Belton New Tech with pride.”
