The Belton New Tech Dragons Cross Country team hit the course on Friday, September 25, competing at the Academy Invitational in Little River-Academy. The Dragons turned in a strong day of racing, led by sophomore Daniel Zubaty, who earned a 17th-place finish with a time of 18:27.23.

On the boys' side, Zubaty led the Dragons across the finish line. Sophomore Abel Carey followed with a time of 21:13.26, finishing 51st, while sophomore David Martinez crossed in 21:46.01 for 56th place.

The Lady Dragons were led by sophomore Ellie Megoulloa, who finished 23rd overall with a time of 14:55.41. Junior Daniella Idumebor followed in 36th place, completing the course in 16:52.91.

Freshmen Melyann Tort-Negron and Julisa Bedolla-Martinez rounded out the Lady Dragons' effort. Tort-Negron finished 43rd with a time of 21:07.82, while Bedolla-Martinez placed 45th in 25:24.53.
