The Dragons played their first of two matches for the week on Tuesday, September 22nd when they hosted the Jarrell Cougars at the Crossroads Tennis courts in Temple.

While the Dragons earned a technical 19-0 victory against the Cougars due to a forfeit by Jarrell, they played 15 matches on the night, winning all but 1. The boys continued their dominance by winning all doubles and singles matches once again, including impressive victories by Zaylen Kimball (4-1, 4-0) and Jackson Trulove (4-0, 4-0). The girls also found success on the evening by winning both doubles matches and winning all but one singles matches. Ujunwa Ogwudu (4-1, 4-1) picked up her second singles victory of the year and Harper Lee (4-2, 4-0) won for the 2nd consecutive match. Also winning her first match of the season and first of her high school career, Asteria Coleman (3-5, 5-4 (7-4), 7-5) outlasted her opponent with a victory in a third set tiebreaker.

Now 2-2 in district play, the Dragons will take on the Burnet Bulldogs on Thursday at Burnet High School. The Dragons will finish up the fall season next Tuesday, when they host the Salado Eagles for the final match of district play at the Belton High School tennis courts.
