The New Tech Dragons played their final regular season match on Tuesday against the Salado Eagles. With a playoff spot already secured, the Dragons and Eagles battled it out for 3rd place. The Eagles got off to a hot start and didn't look back. When the dust settled, the Eagles came out on top, 18-1. The Dragons wrap up the regular season going 3-3 in district play, with an overall record of 3-6 and finishing in 4th place in District 25-4A.

In Doubles play, the Dragons fought hard and were close in every match, but the Eagles won all 7 matches. Grant Wiseman and Lily Higley took their opponents to a 3rd set tiebreaker and just barely lost in the end, 2-6, 6-4, 9-11.

As the match shifted to Singles play, the Dragons continued to put up a fight, taking 5 more matches to tiebreaker. In Boys Singles, Gracin Catterton (6-2, 6-7(1-7), 10-8) came out on top in his match, while Lucas Do (5-7, 7-6(7-5), 2-10) and Jett Lopez (6-2, 4-6, 6-10) came up just short. In Girls Singles, both Uju Ogwudu (6-4, 2-6, 11-13) and Harper Lee (6-3, 4-6, 8-10) lost very close 3rd set tiebreakers as well.

The Dragons now look to their playoff matchup next week against Wimberley High School in the Bi-District round of the 4A playoffs. The Dragons and the Texans will play at the Lake Travis High School tennis courts on Monday, October 5th at 10 am, with the winner advancing to the Area playoffs. Best of luck to the Belton New Tech Dragons!
