Belton New Tech Shines at Cameron High School Dale Keen XC Meet
The Belton New Tech cross country teams put together an impressive showing at the Dale Keen Invitational, hosted by Cameron High School on Friday, September 19.
Girls’ Highlights
Leading the Lady Trailblazers was Ellie Megoulloa, who powered her way to a 7th-place finish in 14:39. She set the tone with a strong performance against a competitive field. Teammate Daniella Idumebor also delivered for Belton New Tech, placing 34th overall with a time of 17:39, helping round out the team effort.
Boys’ Highlights
The boys’ squad was fronted by standout freshman DJ Martinez, who made an early mark in his high school career by claiming 7th place in 20:06. He was backed by a tight pack of teammates:
Daniel Zubaty – 20th place, 20:59
Des Long – 30th place, 21:26
Zorian Hajduk – 59th place, 26:43
The boys’ team’s depth and determination were on full display, with Martinez leading the way and his teammates adding strong supporting performances.
Building Momentum
With top-10 finishes from both Megoulloa and Martinez, along with solid efforts across the lineup, Belton New Tech continues to show growth and potential this season. The Trailblazers will look to carry this momentum into their upcoming meets as they push toward championship competition.
