Friday and Saturday were a tale of bad to worse weather, but Samantha McKenzie fought through the elements and finished in the top half of an elite field of girls golfers. Birdies and Pars were few and far between for the ladies at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco. Friday the wind was the major issue making the course PGA length causing the players to club up or three. Saturday the cold front blew in and the wind made it feel below freezing. The tournament director and course manager decided to suspend play after 9 holes. Samantha pulled through and managed to the survive the day on hot coffee and a positive attitude. Knowing this would be a tournament where the score would be higher than her average. She finished the 2 days with 172
