The Varsity Dragon tennis team went to Waco to play In the Waco ISD Winter Blast on Friday, February 6th. Out of the 12 players that went, 8 would end up earning medals. In Boys Singles, Lucas Do would win 3 out of 4 matches, earning the 2nd place medal, while in Girls Singles, Annabel Ferniza would go undefeated to earn the 1st place medal. In Boys Doubles, Leland Moore and Zaylen Kimball faced fierce competition but still brought home the 3rd place medal in the A Draw. Meanwhile Jett Lopez and Gracin Catterton would win 2nd in the B Draw by going 4 and 1 on the day, losing only to the 1st place team from South Hills. And in the Mixed Doubles B Draw, Desmond Long and Heidi Cook won the 3rd place medal, which included winning their final match by a tiebreaker that went all the way to 19-17! Great job Dragons!
The Varsity Dragons will continue their season on Thursday, February 12th when they help host the Belton ISD Varsity tournament.
