Belton New Tech Runners Shine at Salado XC Meet

Salado, TX – September 11, 2025 – The Belton New Tech cross country team delivered a determined showing at the Salado XC Meet on Thursday, with both the girls’ and boys’ squads putting forth strong performances across the 2-mile and 5K races.

Girls’ 2-Mile Highlights

Freshman Claire Thomas led the way for the Lady Dragons, clocking in at 15:10, a competitive mark that placed her solidly in the field. Close behind, Daniella Idumebor crossed the finish line in 17:37, followed by Ileana Antolak at 18:35, showcasing the team’s depth and consistency in distance running.

Boys’ 5K Efforts

On the boys’ side, DJ Martinez turned in the fastest time for Belton New Tech, completing the 5K course in 21:14. He was followed by Daniel Zubaty with a strong 21:58, while Desmond Long posted a steady 22:54. Rounding out the team’s efforts was Zorian Hajduk, who finished with a time of 28:32.

Building Momentum for the Season

Head Coach and supporters praised the runners for their resilience on a challenging Salado course. With several personal milestones reached and competitive finishes across the board, the Dragons are building momentum as they look ahead to their next meet.

Belton New Tech’s athletes continue to demonstrate steady improvement, commitment, and teamwork – qualities that promise an exciting season of growth and competition.
