Belton New Tech XC Shines in Season Opener at BLORA
The Belton New Tech Cross Country team kicked off the 2025 season on Friday, August 22, with an impressive showing at the Belton Meet at BLORA. The runners set a strong foundation for the season ahead, showing teamwork, determination, and school spirit on a tough course.
Boys 5K Race
Leading the charge for New Tech, DJ Martinez delivered a strong performance with a time of 23:07, setting the tone for his teammates. Dez Long followed with a steady 24:33, while Daniel Zubaty turned in a solid effort at 25:48. Zorian Hajduk rounded out the squad with grit, finishing in 32:17. The boys’ team worked together to push through the hills and challenges of BLORA, showing resilience and growth.
Girls 2-Mile Race
The Lady Griffins brought energy and determination in their 2-mile race. Claire Thomas led the group with a fast 14:53, closely followed by Ellie Megoulloa at 14:56, giving New Tech a thrilling one-two finish. Daniella Idumebor (18:20) and Ileana Antolak (18:36) fought hard to complete the team’s scoring, ensuring a full and successful team effort. Their strong finishes reflect the depth and potential of this year’s squad.
