The New Tech Dragons traveled to Liberty Hill on Thursday, August 14, to take on the Legacy Ranch Wranglers. Although the Dragons secured a 19-0 victory by forfeit, several players still turned in impressive performances on the court.
In Boys Doubles, Leland Moore and Zaylen Kimball dominated their match with an 8–1 win. In Girls Doubles, Samantha McKenzie and Annabel Ferniza cruised to a straight-sets victory (6–1, 6–3), while Carime Montez and Hope Boettger battled through a tight contest, pulling out the win in a third-set tiebreaker (6–1, 5–7, 10–4). In Boys Singles, Gracin Catterton came out on top in another close match, earning an 8–5 win.
The Dragons have a bye week from district play but will return to action with matches against Belton High School on Tuesday, August 19, and Killeen High School on Friday, August 22.
